This pocket guide explains what the Transition movement is, what it aims to achieve and gives pointers for how you can get involved with your local Transition initiative, or guide you to set up your own if you don't already have one. The book provides resources and examples of Transition initiatives throughout the UK, and will explain how you can reduce carbon emissions and dependence on fossil fuels, encourage leaders to make wise decisions and build community relationships and community solutions. The authors: Mike Grenville has been involved in the growth of the Transition movement since early days. He established Transition Forest Row, where he lives, and is currently Editor of the Transition Network newsletter. Rob Hopkins is co-founder of the growing Transition Network, author of the best-selling Transition Handbook and co-author of Local Food. In June 2009 he won the Observer's Ethical Award for Grassroots Campaigner.
